Chantix: A New Hope for Smoking Cessation
Was presented by Kirk Voelker, M.D. at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center off University Boulevard in Sarasota. Great food and beverage were provided by Patty Laird and the Pfizer Pharmaceutical Co. Dr. Voelker provided a lively discussion of the physiological aspects of nicotine addiction with many first-hand anecdotes while identifying current treatment aids for smoking cessation. He also addressed current strategies of behavior counseling related to smoking cessation.
